About Voice in Tech Leadership
Voice in Tech combines career coaching, and practical influence-building for women technologists navigating business and technical leadership in the Microsoft ecosystem.
The why
Many women in technology build deep credibility by delivering, solving, mentoring, and stabilizing complex work. But career momentum often depends on more than doing excellent work. It requires a clear leadership narrative, the right rooms, visible sponsorship, and a voice that lands.
Founder perspective

Voice in Tech Leadership by ITMLCompass was created to help women technologists build the confidence, influence, and impact to be heard in technology environments where their expertise is too often underestimated, interrupted, or overlooked.
This work is grounded in Nancie Calder's 40+ years of experience as a senior technology leader, mentor, speaker, and community builder in the Microsoft ecosystem. Over the course of my career, I have seen how often talented women in technology are known for being capable, dependable, and collaborative — but are not always positioned to be heard, credited, sponsored, or advanced in the same way as others around them.
Voice in Tech Leadership exists to change that. It is not traditional executive coaching. It is practical, career-focused support for women technologists who want to strengthen their voice, claim space in the room, and turn their capability into recognition, opportunity, and momentum.
I bring decades of experience in technology consulting, business applications, CRM, customer engagement, AI strategy, and global practice leadership.
ITM&L Compass stands for Information Technology Management & Leadership Compass. It reflects my commitment to helping technology professionals navigate not only technical careers, but also the leadership, visibility, and influence required to grow within them.
Many women in technology do not need more proof that they are capable. They need support in being heard, recognized, sponsored, and advanced. Too often, women technologists are expected to over-prepare, over-explain, and over-deliver while still having their ideas questioned, repeated by others, or left out of key decisions.
My goal is to help women change that dynamic — not by becoming someone else, but by learning how to communicate their value more clearly, build influence more intentionally, and step more confidently into the opportunities they deserve.
